Commercial Photography | Laurie Solet Boutique

A few weeks ago, I shot a commercial job for Laurie Solet Boutique – for their Spring newsletter. It was fun doing commercial work. Products don’t fidget and models know how to work it. I could get used to that. I didn’t have to do the retouch work, and since I passed it all off to their designer, this week I finally got a chance to pick a few of my favorites to retouch for my portfolio.

Avery, our model was great to work with. She had legs for miles – which meant, I had to get up on the step ladder a few times. It was a great experience for me. And, being able to introduce a little of what I saw and learned from this shoot into my high school senior sessions will be great.

Oh, and the products were cute, too. I had my eye on a certain handbag – but Laurie made sure I didn’t hide it from her before she left. I was a joy working with this team. Cute Cousin Overload

We managed to squeeze in these little cuties at the last minute for a holiday session. I tell ya, I’ve never been so busy as I have this Fall. Though, I realize a lot of it has been travel and education that’s kept me on my toes. When I pulled into the driveway of this gorgeous farm house, I knew I’d have some amazing scenery to work with. And, to top it off, the weather was nice and the sun was shining.

The little ones wanted to do everything their older cousin was doing, especially walking and running. They giggled when she skipped. They wanted to tackle every new thing they encountered. I love that age. So happy. And, can we just talk about Miss R for a minute? She’s another one of those if I ever need a model, little girls. She did so great. Another age I love.

I strive to capture kids in the non-traditional way. I mean, this is what they did…they ran and chased. This is what memories are made of.

Yep! Dogs and all.

This picture, right here – may not be perfect to someone…the one child is falling. But, this is what was happening. This is exactly how I remember this session. Eager kiddos, adorable dogs, and GORGEOUS sunlight.

A Peek for the Franks

When Laura opened the front door and greeted me with Max in hand, the first thing I could think was, WOW! You have grown! It didn’t seem so long ago when I was at their home photographing him as a new baby (well 4 weeks) and his new big brother, Will.

This time, it was a gorgeous, 72 degrees in St. Louis – yes on November 7th. Crazy! But, talk about lucky! While many of the colorful leaves have fallen down and signs of winter are starting to approach, no one could deny this beautiful day that we felt so blessed to get to be taking family photos in.

I thoroughly enjoyed photographing this family. My assistant, my mom, was with me yesterday and I was beyond thrilled to have her. I want so much to include her more in my business as it grows. It’s my hope that my business involves more family and that they can share in the joy it brings to capture memories for people.

Here are my favorites from the day.

Traci Branscum: Photographer

I think it’s so fantastic that other photographers are finally coming together in St. Louis. So, I was very excited when Traci hired me to do her photos for her website and marketing use. She introduced me to this amazing park up on Clayton Rd. and the sun was fading behind the clouds. I think it turned out pretty great! I’m so glad to have met Traci and look forward to doing more stuff with her around town. Here are my favorite peeks from the session:
