Today, I was chatting with Heather Green on IM about bokeh and making fun shapes from the lights. She pointed me to a tutorial that you can find in the Flickr descriptions on these photos if you click on them. So, I tried today and my brain was NOT wrapping around it. Tonight it hit me and I just plugged some twinkle lights in and sat up the Buddha. Perfect!

Nice, huh? My new favorite actions are from LilyBlue that I’ve used. I don’t use any fun actions like this on client photos because there are just too many photos and too many options to choose from. So, I like playing with my own photos with them.

Then, nothing is complete than a photo of Daisy. Yes, Miss. Daisy Mae is farting hearts!

Tee hee - I never said I wasn’t still 12 years old!

So, I’ll be in the Columbus, Ohio area the weekend of the 13th next month (Delaware to be exact). 20 Days In

So, 20 days ago, I started this little photography challenge for my friends. 100 photos in 100 days. And it was to “indentify” us. In the end, we would print them on Moo cards (which are totally fun and cute, btw). You get 100 for an order and they can all be different, or the same. I’ve ordered some for Lollipop Smiles actually!

Anyway, today is day 20. And, I’m proud that I’ve actually kept up this far! Shocker.

Alright, so I’ve been wanting to get back to the wide-format blog so my images can be larger and my slideshows can be embedded. I’m so excited that Amy and I have talked about creating a photographer’s blog that will be more how “we” want it, but for now, I’m back to my old theme. Just customized a little more.

Okay, now that that is out of the way, I am excited to blog sweet, dear, Miss Maggie! She wasn’t too sure about me at first, but she knew she had to put on a show because afterall, these photos would be for her dad. A surprise. What fun! Her big sisters were there to primp her and get her all dolled up too. Love that so much. I invite you to view her slideshow here for now…I’ll be working to embed slideshows on the blog the next go around. (p.s., my images are always uncropped so you may see feet or people in them. I do this so that my clients can crop them to their liking when they print them. I prefer to sell my images on disk with printing rights).

The Camera

So, yeah, last week, I mentioned how I bought a point and shoot. And, how I have no clue how to use it. Give me my Canon 5D and I’m in my element. I took it with me to lunch on Sunday to meet Michelle at the Royale and discovered macro mode. Sweet.

Someone asked me what I got:

I purchased the Canon PowerShot SD880 IS. Audra purchased this camera and I went off her recommendation. There just isn’t a point in going much “better” in this type of camera if you already shoot raw with a high-end digital SLR. So, this serves the purpose of being a camera I can throw in my purse or in my pocket and carry out to dinner or whatever. I’ll never use it at a session, except maybe the video function.

Even the macro function is pretty snazzy!

Anyway, figured you would want the “review” from me. I’ll get more used to it in due time.
