Yay! Today’s the Day!

You would think Christmas would be all exciting and stuff, but no, I’m more excited about Amy Kant coming to visit. Me and mom are anxiously awaiting her arrival. We just love this gal!

So, my grams went home this morning and I’ve been doing some cleaning to get things in order. It’s going to be lots of fun crafting, seeing STL and a fun party night at Blueberry Hill with lots of STL people (come too at 8 p.m. if you’re part of the STL Social Media world and have fun with us). Sunday, we’re doing some Lollipop photos and other fun shots. If you live in the area and want to stop by Sunday night, $25 for your shot (digital file). Let me know and I’ll give you a time!

Some pictures from the past few days:

The Kids & The Grandparents!

That’s us kids with our grandparents. My dad’s mother (grams) and my mom’s father (boppa). My mom took this picture for us!

Jake & Mu

Jake with his cat, Muffassa – that still lives here. He’s such an odd cat and we’re ready to give him away. He likes to bat glasses off the tables and break them. GRRR. He’s giving away a movie on his blog, so click on his name to go there if you’re interested!

No More Mama, please?

Jack was getting annoyed with all the photos I kept taking of him.

And, finally, some illustrations I did for my mom and my grandpa for Christmas. I printed them on canvas so they look really awesome too. I may put these up on ETSY!

'staches Alright, have a great weekend, I’m sure you’ll see and hear lots from me and Amy over the weekend!

Nature…The Little Things

As we started our first day off on Route 66, we stopped at Route 66 State Park which is in the old Times Beach area – Eureka. If you haven’t been, you should. You can go into the visitor center and view tons of memorabilia. However, the bridge going across the Meramec is now one lane only, and unless you want to ride bikes or horses, there isn’t much else to see, history wise. So, we arrived early, and shot on the bridge. This one, this one made me smile.

I think about the intricacy of how a spider weaves a web. Fascinating. There were a lot of them.

Also, Amy (my amazing web designer that put my coding to work if you’re interested) told me I can go a bigger size, so I’m working on that and we may modify the blog a little more. I miss my huge images!

I’m Back!

As I sit her uploading HUGE files, rasterizing artwork, and other catchup stuff, I figured I’d better say “hi”. I’m back in town! I created new business hours for myself – well, office hours. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. I need some noromalcy in my life and with photography, it allows me to shoot mornings and evenings without being tied to the office during those times. When you own your own business, you realize quickly how things can get out of control and you’re soon working well over 80 hours a week. Not cool. I need my own time, it’s valuable and it’s time I did something about it.

Anyhoo – as I catch up on things, you can start watching my Flickr account here. I will soon be posting my daily journals about the amazing road trip I spent the past two weeks. If you are just now reading this, it was on Route 66, and then i-10 through Phoenix on the way home. A quick shot of “home” to me.

A Few Photos

While we break this afternoon in Dallas I have edited a few photos from Andie’s laptop. I still can’t believe Baby Mac was ready on Friday, AFTER I left town. Oh well.

This is the Round Barn in Arcadia, OK:

And a few shots from the Oklahoma City Memorial – which really was an emotional site:

You can always view my Flickr stream here – and I’ll continue to do some uploads to the blog via my iPhone on the trip with phone pictures. We leave tomorrow for our OK City to Amarillo trek.

Good Evening

We’re in Dallas through tomorrow. Trading off cars here at Andie’s house. Last night, we stayed at Kathy’s ranch, and this morning we took some pictures. I thought this was so pretty in the morning light with the flare. Wish I had all his ears in this picture. Anyway, it feels good to just chill tonight. Long, long journey coming up!
