Amanda, I try to shoot as wide open as possible. I use a Canon 5D Mark II and the 50mm f1/4 L lens. I want to upgrade to the 1.2 next. It makes things nice and buttery like that. No actions used here! Other than a sharpen. I'm sorta anti-action as much as possible. I try to do what I can to capture my perfect exposure in camera. Then, in Lightroom, I simply adjust my color to a nice neutral - away from the super warm and super cool. I might bring my blacks up slightly for some pop. Then, I sharpen the image. Voila!

LOVE your stuff!!! You are so talented. I am just starting to get into photography (over the past year or so) and love to look at other people's art. I was wondering if you would share with me a bit about the pic above where she is offset to the right with the gray dress on and the blurred background. Did you use an action on the background or a certain blur? I love that look and have not been able to figure it out no matter how much I look for it.

Thanks again for sharing your talents and for all of the info on your blog, site and facebook.

Thanks!
