Mah Bab-eee!

Well, I survived the big Cooter, Missouri Thanksgiving festivities. The land of little technology and simple thinking. Two days is about all I can handle before I go slightly insane about not having a real connection with the world.

Technically, I’m not back in the office until Tuesday. It’s so important as a business owner to dedicate your days off. I know that will be hard to stick to this spring and summer, but I gotta do what I gotta do to keep some sanity. So, I close Sunday and Mondays. At least I try.

Tomorrow, we’re taking our family Christmas picture. In the past they have been quite fun. Last year’s was fun. We “Lollipopped” ourselves and wore some cute shirts from Old Navy. This year, well, now we’re going to wonder how to top this one – next year. It’s pretty good. Just you wait and see.

In the meantime, mah little Jack-bab-eee came up to the studio to help model some lighting setups for me. I heart him. Until he pees on the sofa. Sigh.

Happy Thanksgiving | We’re Closed!

It’s official…we’re off to go eat some of this:

turkey

Well, that was last year’s turkey, but there is a new one being smoked, and some chocolate pecan pie and pumpkin pie squares, and green bean casserole. And, MMMMMMMMM!

Okay, so the studio is closed for the holidays. We’ll be back in the office next Tuesday!

GOBBLE GOBBLE!

P.S. – you can buy that frame up at Pink Ink Studios.

The Krosner Family

_krosner-Blog03

When Christy found out that I was coming to Atlanta this month, she contacted me about doing her family’s photos. Christy and I go WAY back! We’re sorority sisters from Georgia Southern University. It’s been a long time since I have seen many of my KKG sisters (except Maura, of course).

The unfortunate thing was that it rained the ENTIRE time I was in Atlanta. Of course, I didn’t bring any of my lighting gear other than my flash. After all, I was going to Atlanta to learn about One Light lighting in a workshop. Too bad I didn’t get to take the workshop prior to the shoot. I think I got a few good shots, but lighting was not my friend that day.

We finally opened the front door and worked with what we could on the staircase. My favs. Christy, it was so awesome to see you again after all these years! Make room for me in the Spring! We’re gonna do everything up right!

Focus St. Louis | Move & Shake Event

Remember this party? Well, the lovely hostess recommended me for doing the same set up at Focus St. Louis’ Move & Shake Event this past Saturday. When people see a backdrop and a basket full of props and boas, you often get stares and looks of curiosity. Until…that one brave soul comes over and eagerly jumps at the chance to put on some Elvis glasses and a fake pair of lips. SAY CHEESE!

It’s probably the one time you can get away with saying “cheese” and being silly – as a grown up. Ahhh, love it.

Great event, good times. Below is a sample image and a little album template I’m designing for my Lollipop Smiles & LolliSnaps events for 2010.
