I’m reaching out to my blog readers because I’m looking for some assistance and help in my business. I have a few positions that I’d like to fill – but they aren’t currently full-time or even real consistent/regular positions. I am desperate to find good, reliable help though. When I need it.
So, I thought about compiling my “go-to” jobs lists that I can use to rely on when I need help. I’m going to list them below and then ask that if you’re interested, you’ll follow the instructions at the end of this post.
1 – On-Location Assistants: I’m compiling a list of reliable assistants to go to on-location shoots with me. Most of these are sessions where you’ll be needed for approximately two hours. Your job will be holding equipment, positioning reflectors, assisting the subjects with fixing things I see in camera, etc. On location shoots typically take place outdoors, so not a lot of equipment is carried, but it’s very useful to me to have someone there. I’d like to compile a list of several people that are reliable, and willing to learn so that I may call upon them when a job is scheduled. Commitment is very important to me. You don’t have to be a photographer, but may be interested in learning. It pays $25 a job, plus the knowledge you gain from me.
2 – Wedding Assistants: Again, another compilation list for people to work more, all-day weddings with me. Assistants currently are paid $10 per hour and usually you get a meal if it is served at the wedding. The same job applies as above: carrying equipment, assist in posing subjects, maybe grabbing me a water when I need it. Again, you don’t have to be a photographer, but may be interested in learning.
3 – Creative/Marketing Intern: I’m hoping to find an intern that is more on the business/marketing side. Someone that can help me with this end of my business when I have ideas, but need help carrying them out. I need someone that is interested in helping a business grow and has an eager attitude about assisting. Some tasks might be: obtaining quotes on business and marketing projects, outlining and helping carrying out my notes for marketing, some design work may be available too. You would just have to meet physically with me once a week or via iChat depending on what’s going on. You can work from your home with this position. Internships with me are non-paying, but last for one semester. Should have working knowledge of Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and preferably a Mac user with the ability to work at home on some projects. I’ll certainly help you with school projects as well.
Right now, these are the three positions I’m hoping to get filled. If you’re interested or know anyone interested, please send a PDF of your resume to holly@hollymccaigdesigns.com. For the Internship, please also link me to any samples of your work as it relates to the position. I’ll probably be looking through August at these positions.
