Okay, so did that headline grab ya? I thought this cute photo of some of the kids from Allison and Dave’s wedding in Ohio were so fun! We shot a few of them playing and running. They make a good marketing campaign for:
RUN! HURRY! Time to start booking those holiday shoots! Remember, we have such a small window of opportunity to get your fall photos done before the holidays. In St. Louis, the leaves only stay beautiful for so long. So, if you book your spot for a holiday session, I will give you a free 5 x 7 with your order! Just use the contact form on the website to reach me. Several dates in October and November are already booked so don’t wait!
This past weekend, I got to do one of my favorite jobs. Shooting for Harrison’s Hope. I’ve photographed their Annual Charity Dinner Auction and am now covering their Annual Golf Tournament to help raise money for Harrison’s Hope. I know I’ve shared their story before, but it can never be told enough.
From the Harrison’s Hope website:
Life is hectic and life gets in the way, however the safety of our children should be our top priority. Each year thousands of children are left unattended in and around cars and most people underestimate the potential consequences. Harrison’s Hope is a national, nonprofit organization committed to educating children and caregivers about the dangers of children being left alone in and around cars.
The Struttmann’s lost Harrison and their world changed forever because he was struck by a van that was left unattended by parents – running while children were inside. They placed the van into gear and within seconds, nothing would be the same.
I invite you to watch the story of Harrison and to read the stories as written by their parents on the website here.
Even though the event that happened was tragic, we still go on as Harrison would have wanted us all to. We enjoyed ourselves this day. My amazing, new assistant, Hollie, saved me. I have NOT one clue about golf. She drove the cart around the course for me and watched so that we didn’t get hit with a golf ball. I learned things like, don’t drive on the green and what a “pin” was. It was a great time. Everyone really came out and enjoyed themselves.
Harrison’s Hope Golf Tournament is on the last Saturday of July, every year. Teams of 3 minimum and just $85 a person to jump in. There are lots of prizes and food and drinks. I invite you all to join up next year if you love golf! A few of my favorite shots and then a slideshow I put together quickly last night. I left out a lot of photos in this particular one because I took so many!
Be sure to let the slideshow load when you hit play. It might take a few minutes as there are LOTS of photos!

A couple of weekends ago, I drove all the way to Delaware, Ohio with the company of my mom and my aunt. It’s actually not a bad drive. It’s pretty much a straight shot on I-70. Can’t complain. But, my mission was to help out an amazing friend that I met a couple of years ago through a photography community. Megan Morgan is a brilliant photographer and her style and personality are so addictive. I just adore her. In December, I attended a gathering at her studio and she mentioned the wedding of her cousin, Allison. I said to her that I was hoping to second shoot more weddings and she made me the offer. After all, she was going to be “IN” the wedding, but also the photographer. I can’t imagine what sort of pressure that puts on you. But, I agreed to do the main shooting during the ceremony and helping cover all the other bases with her.
We drove about an hour east of Delaware to a little town with a Yacht Club and Arboretum and there, we braved the rain for the day! I’ve been pretty busy with my own work, so I’ve really just started working on these images for myself. It is such a blessing to have people like Megan in my life that let me participate in big days like this. Her family is so adorable and kind. They made me feel very welcome. I wish I could shoot with her more. Thanks, Megan!
Here’s a sneak peek of one of the images from the day – taken at the Arboretum before the ceremony.
