Today, as I was cleaning out the four bags I have going on with camera gear, and laying my gear out on the worktable; I realized I should do a shot of what all I use/have in my photography world. This is really the more common use stuff.

I hardly use the 20D – really it doesn’t do well in low light. But, mom will use it tonight at an event we’re covering. I purchased the Gary Fong Puffer to go over the on-board flash since I only have the one external flash. Speaking of flashes, the Canon battery pack that I have for it ROCKS my socks! It recycles the flash faster and let’s me work off more batteries without having to change them out. What you don’t see here is my enormous pile of batteries that I seriously need to check the charge on.
For typical portrait shoots, I will usually just take my 50 mm f/1.4, 24-70 mm f/2.8 and the 70-200 mm f/4 – it let’s me cover pretty much everything I need to for dogs and kids. I’ve found that doing the past few weddings that the macro and the fisheye are great to use there too!
My other must haves: lipgloss, pens, notepad, cleaning cloth and hand sanitizer. I will say that it helps to also have things like rubberbands on hand! I had forgotten my lightsphere at the last wedding and so Jason fashioned a flash filter out of paper and a rubberband. SWEET!
My bags: Jill-E (this is my travel bag because the laptop fits in it too), Tracy Joy (for second shooters to use), Shootsac (great for weddings), Crumpler (my most DURABLE bag and pretty much the one I use all the time)
