Colds Suck

I realize I didn’t do a Memory Mix, so please forgive…I’ll make up for it next week.

Last night we ran out to get some dinner at iHop and then also to Best Buy to see if we could find any other fun games for the Wii. We are now kareoke fools with the American Idol version. Oh so funny.

At dinner I could NOT breathe! Like my nose got so stuffed up and continued through the whole night. I sounded better when I first got up but it just came right back quick. I don’t feel bad, but I feel like I’ve been in a room full of smokers or something. I get so stuffed up when I am around them and smoke. Sometimes I get a headache, but at least that isn’t happening.

In the past, I’ve been known to get sick when things and life are just too crazy. And, it’s been that way as of lately for me. With just a few weeks left until CHA, I cannot afford to come down with anything major. So, here I am. At home, trying to chill the whole day. I’ll work on the computer, but I am not going out where grass is being mowed and that stuff.

As I get older, I learn to read the signals my body sends me when it is time to chill. So, I am. I think I started getting sicker more frequently when I started working from home. Any other home-working people that have experienced that too? I think it’s the fact that I don’t interact outside much, so my resistance isn’t built up. When I do a few weeks of more people interaction, BAM! I’d be curious to hear from others if this is the same for them.

Tonight is the St. Louis Bloggers Meetup at the Atomic Cowboy. I decided this morning that I won’t go just because of how I’m feeling. I think that I need to wait until I feel better the next time. Sucks because there are still some from the group I have yet to meet in person. We’re supposed to have breakfast with my grandpa in the morning so I want to also feel like I’ve rested for that.

That’s my weekend thus far. I hope everyone is either a) staying dry and out of the floods if you’re from this area or b) staying cool and playing in the pool if you’re out west…and away from fires. Can’t we offer each other a little of our weather?

Later.

Ick…sorry you are sick, sweetie!! :( Are you taking vitamin C? I take a daily multivitamin, but I also take extra vitamin C and that has made a HUGE difference for me, this past year. In the past, I would have already had a early Summer cold, and several times I would not even be over it when I got a second head cold…so crazy! I’ve also started taking vitamin E and B12…all good stuff :)
