Hmmm…the weathermen in St. Louis got it SERIOUSLY wrong this weekend. They showed us the map with a jet stream going up and around us in St. Louis. Nope, both yesterday and today have been wet. In fact, I woke up this morning to frantic dogs because I swear to god lightening hit SOMETHING in the near vicinity. I too was up then. It cleared up a little this evening only to be starting it again a few minutes ago. Wonder what the excuse is for flubbing this up. I hear some people don’t even have power and for some cable has been out. I suppose we got lucky.
I am all too familiar with power loss - we’re talking multiple days in a row in the hot summer. NOT fun at all! Don’t wish that on anyone. I always say I’m going to buy a generator and still haven’t. I’ll probably have to experience a long power failure again before I get off my ass and actually do that.
Yesterday, we babysit Anna while their family attended another one on their side’s wedding. She is a hoot. I can remember a year ago when the child would scream bloody murder if anyone other than her immediate family came near her. Hours of constant crying and sobbing. Now, she’s much more interactive.

She enjoyed playing the Wii - though I know she had NO clue what she was doing. It took me 20 minutes how to figure out how their setup was on their tv. No one’s tvs are ever the same. Then, she sung herself to sleep. Once in a while, we’d hear “ALRIGHT!” like she was cheering on her favorite ball player.

Today, we painted the door that leads to the garage in the kitchen with blackboard paint. It’s sooo cool - but I haven’t bought any chalk yet. So, I guess I’m lying saying that it’s cool just yet. And, the beadboard was hung in the dining room. We always do little things at a time around here. My room has been on hold slightly till that gets done. I’m going to have to sleep in the den for a few days while furniture gets moved out and the floor is finished and airs out.
That’s been our weekend - today is Andrea’s birthday. She’s finally 20. Tomorrow they are coming over for lasagna.

At these gas prices, we opted to not go to the Gypsy Caravan tomorrow. Will probably go Michaels and Joanns if they are open. I bought Daisy a cute little patriotic dress but they had nothing to match for Jack so I’ll be snagging him a little kerchief for his neck.
Have a good Memorial Day tomorrow!

That is one awesome pic of Andrea! She looks like she is about to tear into someone. Another ringflash action? Pretty cool!
