To iPhone or Not?

Should I? Or shouldn’t I?

iphone.png

I have an opportunity to purchase one. However, my regular cell plan which is a family plan as I have my mother on there can’t be canceled for another year and I don’t want to pay the disconnect fee and buy a second iPhone for her. However, my plan all along was to have two cells - one for business and one for personal. Here I am trying to justify. I have to know - is it that amazing? Do I really want it? And, can I really have Johnny Appleseed calling me?

Much Love,

If you need help rationalizing, I’m your woman. :) Having separate phones for business and personal makes perfect sense to me. How much have you played with it? It is incredibly fun.

But Andie has a good point, if you can at all hold off till the next release, you should. Apple rarely disappoints with the new generations of products.

I really, (really, really) want one too, but I have to switch providers to get one. I’m hoping by the time my contract is up in December they won’t be exclusive to AT&T anymore.

I personally love mine! I was on a family plan but with my husband being deployed they just put his on hold and switched me to a regular plan (it pays to have a brother-in-law working for AT&T). The phone hasn’t failed me once! I love having my email with me wherever I go, the maps work seemlessly with Google 411, so I can get directions text messaged to me when I call, the weather is quite handy, and now I don’t have to deal with carrying my iPod and my phone. I wouldn’t go back for anything!

They are sooo expensive. And you have to use ATT. :( I want one, too, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.

wait! I was ready to buy myself one too, but my mac geek BIL said to wait for the next generation. I need a phone now, so i’ve been looking at the palm centro. palm os is supposed to work well with the mac os.

How good is the deal? I know you can find unlocked iPhones on eBay, new ones or used ones. I personally want the new AT&T Tilt! Good luck and let us know what your finally decision is. I want to see if the iPhone outlives the early termination fee. ;D

We’re in the same boat here. Have one more year to disconnect. TRUE! Apple ALWAYS makes their products better as time goes on….so if you wait, you’ll get a better one with more space. I am really close to ending my phone and getting one for me but I keep thinking of if I wait, I will get a better one. :)

Ok here is my justification for it. you can use it for a remote computer, you can work out with it as your IPOD or to watch a video while on the elipitical. You have your phone, your storage ( I use mine for a back up). You can You tube when you are bored waiting in line. You can use it in the airport where there is not free wi fi (just ask chel). It is really great. AND I only have the Touch.

the fact that you are questioning means you need to wait. i would not pay for two plans.

I’m surprised at how many rational comments there are! Me, I’m the justifier. If you want it I could talk you into it! We went to a big mall yesterday and they had an apple store and I played for a minute. It looks SO cool. Definetely made me want one but at $500 it’s not in my future. The only reason to wait is to check out the next model. Will it be cooler? Will the iphone price go down a bit when the next model comes out? Are you the type to want the latest and greatest? Because it’s such an investment you don’t want to be wishing to upgrade in a few months to the new one. It looks like you’ll be getting one or the other - either way - have fun with it!
