JACK!

Jack! Jack!

My morning thus far.

Hunting for Jack.

UPS Man comes to door and rings bell - of course he leaves without waiting for me because God forbid they actually see that you get your package anymore. I open door to get package off porch and Jack BOLTS! Out the door after the UPS Man. Not that he would do any damage because he’s a scared dog too, but he just wants to bark.

What does the UPS Man do? Turns, looks, and drives off. Yes, Jack got to him before he even got on the truck and I holler out, grab him! Doesn’t even acknowledge me or my request. Just leaves. What an ass.

I’m in my pajama capris, no shoes, no bra. So, I have to run in and get a coat and shoes and then I can’t find Jack anywhere. I’m yelling his name, clapping my hands. I eventually find him in the neighbors backyard doing of all things - POOPING!

I scold him and he cowers down till I approach him and pick him up to bring him inside.

Pissed at Jack, Pissed at UPS Man!

I can remember the day when they would ring your doorbell and wait for you to open it. Now, they drop and dash. The guy used to stop and give Merlin treats! Now, our guy just throws your package on the porch, rings the bell and runs off. He doesn’t even park directly in front of your home anymore. Like, “maybe they won’t see me if I pull way up!” I mean, he could have stood there while I grabbed Jack so Jack wouldn’t take off. He didn’t have to reach down and hold him if he didn’t want to.

There is no customer service anymore. I have HUGE problems with the postal service already. Though my mailman is the bomb. The service in general stinks. Priority packages never making it to people, oh and the best, returned 1099 to a contract person that was ripped to shreads in an “apology printed envelope”. I feel so negative towards mailing and shipping these days.

Anyhoo - Jack is safe, inside and knows I’m very upset with him.

Much Love,

Oh no! Sorry your morning started out like that, Holly! Glad Jack is safe and sound though. Shame on him! ;) I agree about the whole UPS thing. The drop and dash makes me mad. They literally DO just drop it and run off. After having TWO Fed-Ex packages dropped off at the wrong place I’m a bit upset with them, too. Hope the rest of your day is a good one!!

Those UPS drivers are always in a hurry. The other day when my new lens arrived, the guy that brought it was sweaty profusely….and panting like he ran my package all the way from NY to FL. Kinda gross, wet cardboard a bit on the outside, but I was still glad to see the package and opened it regardless of the sweat droplets all over it, lol!

Ummm I hear you on the UPS and USPS mail people. I recently moved from L.A. County to Orange County in California…and it appears the customer service people are a little snobbier than normal. I mean, you can’t even get greeted when you walk into a store anymore. They just stare at you and don’t offer to help! Holy Cow! Glad Jack is safe!

sorry about JAck and the Jacka** (sorry couldn’t resist).
my ups lady is pretty friendly when you catch her - but she doesn’t ring the doorbell either. and here in WA - when it’s so rainy you don’t want your package out in the elements!

WOW! I am so glad you found Jack. And I hear you on the drop and run. My old UPS man didn’t do that. He waited. He even carry them into my garage if it were open. The new guy? Nope. It actually pisses me off too because the dogs go ape shit for nothing. I would rather they just drop it if they are going to take off so quickly. Annoying!!

I think the customer service thing is across the board though….not just shipping *rolleyes*

Holly, glad Jack is okay. Wish I could clone my UPS guy for ya. He’s awesome and always stops for the dogs. Since he is here almost everyday, he usually just leaves the packages on the porch but doesn’t ring the bell or anything. If I see him pull into the driveway, I go out and chat with him a bit, but usually just let him leave the package. Whenever he has a substitute though, they ring the bell AND knock on the door and then leave. What, may I ask, is the point of that? Why ring the bell and get the dogs all excited if you don’t actually NEED me to come to the door? Sorry, you hit a nerve…

Girl, you don’t want to get me started. Although my UPS people do the drop and dash with ring, mine will often look back up the driveway and say hello and are nice.

For me, its the USPS from hell. We have had multiple carriers and all of them act as though they are physically unable to get out of the car. I have found boxes from Amazon under my mailbox right on the street edge, packaged rubberbanded to the mailbox, shoved in the mailbox, and this last person took the priority envy with my tax return in it and shoved it between the metal square piece that has the number of your house and the mailbox. I sat there and tugged and pulled trying to get my tax return separated from my mailbox. I have called and complained and still nothing.

Your right customer service is dead. I am just glad he didn’t hit Jack when he pulled off.

The delivery dudes are the same way here! Makes me nuts. They don’t even give me time to get to the door. I’ve caught them leaving packages in my alley way - seriously, I live in a city!

I have a brat terrier that does that exact same thing. She did it to us once in a car lot and ran out into a busy street. I thought that was the end of Daisy (her name) but she was so scared she laid down right on her back (in the street) with legs up, as if she was saying, “Save ME!”

My Daisy is fat because she jumps up on our kitchen counter and eats bread, chocolate (you think eating a box of chocolate bunnies would make her sick), and most recently rum cake.

Glad you found him. We’ve gotten to where when Daisy gets out, we just let her run because if we go inside and shut the door, it’s not a game anymore and she comes back.
