Good Gracious!

I woke up at 1:30 or 2:00 a.m. and was in the most excruciating pain in my upper abdomen. About 10 years ago I suffered from a HORRIBLE kidney stone attack. I was hospitalized, went through surgery that didn’t help, suffered an infection and then was able to proceed with lithotripsy - crushing of the stones with sonar waves under water. I never want to go through that EVER again.

So, that was my first thought. Since then, I’ve had mild stones - meaning painful but totally tolerable and you knew they could pass. Before the stone was blocking major functions.

I was up and I was down last night. Walking, under covers and over covers. Telling myself, OMG you cannot have something going on that is bad. I Googled my symptoms - yes, Googled…thinking it couldn’t be kidney stones - it was just too high. I don’t drink a lot of sodas like I had in the past so it just seemed unlikely. If I was reading right, it was mostly something going on with my gallbladder - perfect location and possible stones. Approximately 20 minutes ago, the pain began to subside. I have eaten something and am drinking some coffee. Trying to make stuff “move” inside me. Gross, I know. It still isn’t totally gone, but much better.

Mom said that it could very well have been a stone moving and I may not ever experience it again - then again, I might. OH MY. Going to just continue resting because I slept like 2 hours last night with the pain. In and out of sleep.

That means, behind again on my photos and embrace me challenge, my work and cleaning this bedroom. I am thinking that all my negative talk could have triggered this.  I do believe our thoughts and actions can make us healthy or not. So, stop being a brat Holly and get happy and healthy!

Oh!!! Forgot to add, I had gallbladder issues about 3 years ago now. Pay attention to what you’ve eaten if it happens again. High fat foods like french fries set mine off. It was over a course of a year though until it was happening so frequently, I went to the Dr. It is pretty serious, a stone can get out and get stuck and then it’s life threatening.
Totally freaked out about surgery, I finally just did it. It was the best decision, no more pain and the recovery wasn’t that bad. If you have any questions, drop me a line.

I hope that whatever it is has passed and doesn’t come back, Holly! I’m right there with you at the moment- I slipped on the stairs carrying my laundry down to the basement and wrenched my left ankle in a way it does not naturally go- very big OUCH! I’ve done this before and it takes 6-8 weeks to heal, oh joy! maybe being immobilized will help me get more scrapping done? maybe? LOL

Hope you’re feeling better and that it’s not gall stones! I had my gall bladder out a few years ago. Not a fun experience.
