Humpers

Get your mind out of the gutter! It’s HUMP DAY! That means just a couple more days till my mom comes home for good! I think she’s ready to. Poor thing is ready to get back to St. Louie!! We’re going to get the flooring for the craft studio because, well, we have to work in there. So much going on, so much we have to do! So exciting!

At My Digital Muse, we announced our newest designers joining the boutique. I’m really excited about this. Several of them are very new to designing. I love that I can give them an opportunity to try their hand at this and help guide them along. To me, it’s very rewarding. You should start seeing new things loading up in the store by tomorrow. With that though means Kimberly Geswein is leaving us. Today is her last day. We’ll miss her quirky style. We also wish her and her family much love and luck as they prepare to move overseas. Since Kimberly was our font maker, and we don’t want to stop offering this service, we do have a new person coming on – no she isn’t one of the people listed on this graphic! I promise you’ll soon discover by tomorrow! She made the font I’ve been using on my website (and yes, she will be selling it) and is working on another one of mine for me too. I love that she can work with my Illustrator files and turn my art into a font! So fun. So, yes, we will be offering artsy fonts and custom-font making from your handwriting or drawings. Just come on over to My Digital Muse starting tomorrow to get started with her!

This house is a wreck, and it’s 11:30 and I haven’t had coffee yet. Time to get me some! Then, straighten up. Then, start work on a client website that’s been in the waiting line for me!

Alright – I’m back for an update….I finally have had a chance to really look at all the layouts. My Day

So, the animals kept waking me up last night. I think the cats were trying to drink from the bathtub in my bathroom (it was dripping a little and I was too lazy to get up and fix that). Well, it would appear that they slipped and fell. I am not positive, but the noise they made and the wet floor in the hall would prove it was possible. Oh the cats. I also purchased a new litter box last night – the kind with a lid on it. They are terrified of it. So picky they are!

I’ve priced the sliding door/doggie door panels. Pricey, but worth it. I want to get it. But, we now fear that this means the cats will come and go as they please – and possibly bring critters back in for us. Thoughts? Recommendations?

Got up this morning and prepared to go to my photoshoot – only to get all the way to Dorsett Road and FORGET MY CF Card for the camera. DANG IT! So, I called Kristie and it worked out great because the Post Dispatch was there doing their interview. This gave me enough time to get back home and pick up my card. I got back up there and it was so great to meet Kristie and little Megan. I think I confused some of you. It’s Megan that is going through a transplant on Thursday. Megan has Alagille Syndrome. This affects the liver. Megan turns one in March and all her life has been battling this. Her donor is a living donor. I found out today that they will get to meet the donor after the surgery. It’s amazing. Kristie is supposed to email me the link to a site where she journals daily and they can accept donations. They are in the process of setting up a fund account to help offset the costs of Megan’s surgery and treatments. She’s precious. Other than being jaundiced, you wouldn’t know she felt bad. She is a ham, loves mama and was a pleasure to meet. In case you missed my post earlier, I knew Megan’s dad when I was engaged to Matt. Matt owned a screenprinting company and Brian printed for us. It’s been probably five years since I have been in contact with him. Though I didn’t get to see Brian today, meeting Kristie was great. I can’t wait to see them again when Megan has her new liver and is healthy again. Here’s a quick picture from the shoot. I’ll share more later. Please keep Megan in your prayers and thoughts – she checks in the hospital tomorrow at Children’s and will undergo the surgery on Thursday. They weren’t on the list very long and are blessed to have this all happen so quickly.

I also received my copy of the new Digital Scrapbooking magazine from Simple Scrapbooks! Actually, I got two, but one will be saved for archive purposes. Great stuff in there. I’m really pleased that they are doing more articles and less layouts. It seemed in the past that the layouts filled the pages and while that’s great, we want to learn something from the magazine. LOVE IT! I don’t have anything in this issue other than my name up in the front where the rest of the creative board is listed. I haven’t had time to look it through, but am pleased! Way to go to Chris Ford and Cathy Z. They worked hard on making it look so great!

PS – LOVIN the layouts you are all sharing! Just a few more days!

Holy Heck You Guys!

AHAHAH – I just went to look at my stats for the day. The number of hits on my blog is like doubled. That’s insane! And, then I went to check on the kit to see how many downloads there were…are you ready? Over 960 downloads! That’s crazy! Rawk on people!!! Okay, seriously, I get the most hits ever today and my blogging today is crap! LMAO Of all days, I am speechless. I’m doing a photo shoot tomorrow for a VERY old friend of mine. I haven’t seen Brian in years. He used to print for Matt at the screenprint shop years ago. He now has a baby girl and his wife called me to photograph her. See, this Thursday, she goes in for a liver transplant. To me, this is very special.

Mondays Blow

I really don’t like them – even though I work from home. Don’t ask – I think it’s just because it’s a Monday! I did just hop out of the shower – at 4 p.m.! I need to go to WalMart. Will go before Heroes comes on.

Weren’t the Oscars great? Very good…I haven’t seen a lot of those films, but it’s always enjoyable. Oprah is on right now doing her show from Kodak.

I have nothing super duper special to post today, but thought I’d better because I’m sure someone will wonder where the heck I am. Thanks for all the comments on the new site look and for continuing to submit layouts for the free Pop Bytes contest kit a few posts below! You guys rawk!
