Last Day Celebrations

Okay, so today is my last day at RTB. While it is bittersweet – I do enjoy our prodcuts and how much I’ve been able to help people, it is time to move on to focus on my own business again. Hoping to gain my photography knowledge and focus back. Getting over those nerves of feeling like I’m starting over again. I know it will all work out fine. Just help me stay on top of things and not spend money on things I don’t need.

I think that later tonight when I get home – and after American Idol, I may have a little blog celebration….I’ll leave you with that thought.

Monday – Almost THERE!

Hey all….I haven’t been too eventful lately. Sorry bout that. I have a TON of email still to respond to and go through. I promise to do so on Wednesday at the latest.

Tomorrow is my last day at Relax the Back. I was hoping the shopping cart would be ready and we could have a little shopping fun with some celebrations. But, that didn’t happen. Instead, we’ll have to all have a virtual martini!!!

I counted a gazillion rolls of ribbon last night at Archivers inventory last night. Holy moly I was dreamin’ about it. We had to unroll and measure the ribbon by the yard. Which isn’t hard. No, it’s the re-rolling that stinks. BUT, that American Craft ribbon is DA BOMB!!!!!!!!! So many cool and awesome color combos and patterns. HOLY! YAY!

I watched Apprentice tonight – even though I didn’t want to. I love Donald. I’m so upset over his feud with Martha. However, mom thinks it is a publicity stunt. Maybe it is? I thought that the MENSA dude should have got the boot. Oh well. Smart peeps on that there show. Wish I could be a candidate for it!

Have TiVo’d Grey’s – not sure what happened. SHHHHH don’t tell me! Will watch hopefully Wednesday on my day off.

Tami pointed out that I forgot my Friday Lovin’ – man, I AM A SLACKER!

So, here it is on Monday:

1. Ketel One vodka
2. Olives
3. My new martini glasses from Crate and Barrel (theme here?)
4. the new Daisy D’s papers (sorry there aren’t any previews ANYwhere of this new line – LULLABY)
5. Bose Sound Dock – even though I don’t have one, YET
6. Sirius S50 – wishing I had bought THIS instead of my iPod

Drop Shadows – Grrrr

Let’s talk drop shadows. Can I tell you how much it now annoys me when I buy a kit or elements from someone and they already put drop shadows on things? I was talking about this with another designer tonight and I see it again again more often. I used to do it. I realize now how bad that was. I have my own style for drop shadows and that means I can’t do my style on my layouts when I use other people’s elements. I think that digital scrapbooking is evolving so much and everyone is getting better and better at things. We all agree that drop shadows make things more realistic. But, again, we all have our own way of doing them and would like (or shall I say, prefer) our own style. All my old archives have them. I’m sorry, really sorry, to those that buy those now and will buy them in the future. It’s why they are reduced in price so much any way. I’ve really grown as a designer. I sure hope my other designer friends feel like I do and don’t put drop shadows on their items. A while back I did a tutorial on how I make my own drop shadows. It’s linked right here if you missed it. There, I feel so much better now!

Oh, and edited to add: Designers – TAKE YOUR TIME! Seriously! I just got some new things and see LOT’s of bad edges, mis-aligned text and unclean accents. Usually it’s the embellishments I see this on. I hate that – I know I had to learn a lot in the past with my own designs and mistakes. But, I’m buying some things from people that have been designing for some time, and even have a good following. Let’s all just slow down! Please!

Martini Luvvva’

Greetings Blog Readers!

Okay, so I sorta didn’t blog much yesterday – sorry bout that.

Getting so much cool feedback about the Spring is Coming Kit. LOVIN’ seeing all the hot stuff people are making. SO COOL! THANK YOU. I just love hearing from everyone.

Was off yesterday – but did my major running around. Bought a bunch of new shirts for spring summer to wear to work. I found out quick that sweaters are way too hot, so I got more knit stuff. WAY better. Picked up a new purse from Jones. Love it. Saw another one I liked better, but didn’t want to pay the price.

I hope I can get some pictures of Dan and his “baby”. I may have missed my chance. But, Dan is carrying one of those babies around this weekend for Child Development class. He spent the night last night. It cried and cried. Too freakin’ funny. Mom and I made the boys take us to the mall cause we had a couple martinis and didn’t want to drive. They had to tote the baby along too. So, Dan walked around the mall with this thing. Oh my gosh. Laughing my butt off. It was crying this morning and I swear they slept through it. It’s heavy too! He has a car seat carrier thing for it too and I picked it up at the mall and man! Like the real thing. I hope I get some pictures. I really do!

I worked today. I’m getting that “itching” to be done with it. Tuesday is my last day. Hopefully I can manage – ha. Doing inventory tomorrow night at Archivers. I hope I’m not too exhausted on Monday.

Oh, when we went to the mall we stopped in Archivers and I picked up two martini stamps there. So cute!

Okay, watching some movies, drinking a martini and hitting the hay (ya’ll must think I’m a martini drunk! HA HA – not…I only drink two max…one tonight).
